Headway

A national brain injury association. Promotes the understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provides information, support and services to those affected by brain injuries. Website: www.headway.org.uk

 

National Centre for Brain Injury

A national centre for brain injury rehabilitation in Northamptonshire which works to rehabilitate adults with acquired brain injuries so they achieve the maximum level of independence and health possible. Website: www.stah.org/en/1/home.html

 

Child Brain Injury Trust

Supports children, young people and their families affected by acquired brain injuries and helps them achieve their potential. Website: www.cbituk.org

 

Trust-ed

Provides educational services to improve the lives of young people with acquired brain injuries and their families so they achieve the maximum future social, emotional and employment prospects. Website: www.trust-ed.org

 

Independent Living Fund

A government funded organisation set up to provide financial support to disabled people so they can live in the community rather than in residential care. Website: www.ilf.org.uk

 

United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum

A not-for-profit coalition of organisations and individuals promoting the understanding acquired brain injury. They provide information and expert input to policy makers, service providers and the general public to promote the interests of brain injured people and their families. Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust

Helps people regain the skills lost as a result of brain injury. Has seven rehabilitation units across the UK, runs extended programmes of rehabilitation at six long-term care centres and offers supported housing in the community and ‘own home' care packages. Website: www.birt.co.uk
